Description of the sector development entities
Development Public Trust
The public trusts set up by the Federal Government for economic development that make financial activities which main object is doing usual and professional credit operations, including the assumption of obligations by third parties, are also part of the Mexican banking system and are published annually by the Procuraduría Fiscal de la Federación in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF). Such public trusts, which are subject to the supervision of the CNBV are:
- Operating Fund and Bank Financing of Housing (FOVI)
- Guarantee and Development Fund for Agriculture, Livestock and Poultry (FONDO, a member of FIRA)
- Special Fund for Agricultural Financing (FEFA, a member of FIRA)
- Guarantee and Development Fund for Fishing Activities (FOPESCA, a member of FIRA)
- Technical Assistance Special Fund and Agricultural Credit Guarantee (FEGA, a member of FIRA)
- Mining Development Trust (FIFOMI)
- National Trust Fund for Popular Housing (FONHAPO)
Development Agencies
The economic development agencies, most of them with legal personality and its own capital (except Fovissste), subject to the supervision of the CNBV in accordance with their respective laws, are:
- Financiera Rural
- Institute of National Housing Fund for Workers (INFONAVIT)
- Housing Fund of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (FOVISSSTE)
- Institute of the National Fund for Workers Consumption (INFONACOT)
