National Survey for Financial Inclusion

The National Survey for Financial Inclusion (ENIF for its acronym in Spanish) was developed by the CNBV in collaboration with the National Statistics and Geography Institute (INEGI), to generate a data base, with nationally representative data, that could contribute to the design of financial services access and usage indicators in order to identify potential challenges in this matter.

 

 

This document presents graphically some of the most important results of the ENIF 2015 carried out by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), with the support of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), whose survey was held from 20 July to 28 August 2015.

This document presents the results obtained at a national level carried out by the ENIF 2015, disaggregated by gender and type of locality. The values obtained in each question are presented in absolute and percentage terms, distributed into the following sections: socio-demographic profile of adults selected to respond the survey, expense management, informal and formal savings, informal and formal credit, use of insurance, saving accounts for retirement income through international remittances, use of financial channels, protection of users of financial services, asset ownership and glossary.

This publication describes the process followed for the elaboration of the 2012 National Survey for Financial Inclusion. The objectives of this report are to share their experience developing the survey and to open a dialog with other organisms responsible for financial inclusion public policies as well as other persons interested in the subject. Finally, the report aims to enrich the development of this type of measurement tools linked to very specific public policies.
